Favorite Images from 2023: #7 Fingerprint of a Glacier

As I've done for several years I like to look back on the previous year's work and share my 12 "best" images - although the word best is subjective. So, let's say that these are my 12 favorite images of 2023. I'll be sharing them one at a time.

Fingerprint of a Glacier

While on our way to Logan Pass on Going-to-the-Sun road in Glacier National Park we were stopped by the incredible view of this valley carved out by glaciation long ago, with Lunch Creek in the foreground and the Sun's rays filtering through the clouds in the distance. I've been a fan of Ansel Adams since I first became familiar with his work about 50 years ago. I had to make a black and white image of this place and this moment - I also really like pans.

I received a print of this photograph on semi-gloss fine art paper last week and it's exactly what I hoped it would be. Click here for more on how to bring this beautiful landscape into your home!
